WHAT IS IT?
At DIVERT, our mission is to make action sports and creative education more accessible to everyone, especially at-risk and underserved youth. One of the ways we do that is through our DIVERT THE YOUTH (DTY) program that subsidizes sessions for individuals and groups who otherwise might not be able to afford a day at DIVERT. Our hope is that exposure to the Action Sports Lifestyle and community will divert youth’s attention and interest away from the negative influences towards more positive ones like action sports and creative education.
WHAT IS THE PROGRAM CURRICULUM?
The youth that benefit from our program are given single or multi-day sports and educational experiences that they otherwise wouldn't be able to access. Our program curriculum in art, music, photography, videography, entrepreneurship and more supplement the STEM curriculum they get in school. Our athletic programming in skiing/snowboarding, skateboarding/scooter, bodyboarding/surfing supplements the traditional sports opportunities provided at school as well! We provide a platform for youth to discover a passion, and developing the skills necessary to find a fulfilling career. We Look to hire youth from our DTY Program at DIVERT and we also look to provide career opportunities with our brand partner organizations. HOW DOES IT WORK?
A portion of every dollar that we make at DIVERT goes to fund the DTY program. Additionally, the DTY program benefits from charitable contributions from our generous brand partners, foundations, our guests and other charitable organizations who donate to the program. We then connect with local and regional non-profits, youth groups and other charitable organizations to arrange trips for them and their kids to experience an epic and enriching day at DIVERT. HOW CAN I SUPPORT DTY?
Contributing to the DIVERT THE YOUTH Program is simple and easy. Just click the button below and follow the instructions to make a contribution through our donations portal. For every $30 that is contributed to the DTY program, we are able to subsidize a session for an underserved youth in the community If you’d like to ask us any questions before making a contribution just drop us a line via the inquiry field below.
HOW CAN I BENEFIT FROM DTY?
DIVERT currently works with non-profits, youth groups, schools and other charitable organizations to arrange trips to DIVERT. We rely on these organizations to determine who is eligible for the DTY Program. If you represent a non-profit, youth group, school or other charitable organization whose mission is to make sports and/or creative education more socially equitable and accessible, please reach out via the inquiry field below to begin planning your group’s trip to DIVERT. All of our DTY sessions go through our non-profit partners so if you are an individual who is interested in benefiting from the DTY Program, hit us up and we will connect you with one of our non-profits, youth groups, schools or charitable organizations to see if you can get involved through one of them!
